Secrets Of The World Class (Part 1 of 4) To reach your goals and dreams, you must update the way you think. Too many struggle because they operate from a Fear-Based mindset rather than supporting a Freedom-Based attitude. People, like myself, who were raised with middle class beliefs (scarcity/fear), find themselves constantly struggling to stay motivated, feel secure, or be happy for any length of time. There Are 4 Things You Can Do To Begin Thinking Like The World Class. Step #1: Know What You Want and Why You Want It? Create a personal MISSION STATEMENT for yourself. Focus on what's most important to you in life. What do you value above all else and how do you wish to contribute to those around you? If you had 30 seconds to live, what advice would you give to your children? Use these questions to help you discover what's most important to you and then only engage in activities that support this mission! I grew up thinking that I had to work my butt off to get what I wanted. To this day, I struggle with the feeling of wanting to push forward, even when I'm completely exhausted. Most of my friends are the same way. It's like we are attempting to force our goals into manifesting by the actions we take. The value of hard work and taking consistent action towards goals is necessary and valuable. However, ACTION should actually be the last step in the equation! "If you live by the motto, Imagine you are a prisoner and your only chance of survival is to escape. All day and night you dig through the clay walls with your rusty spoon. You're not eating or sleeping, just digging. You believe that the only thing that can set you free and get you out of this prison is massive action. So you just keep digging. Finally, you break through the wall and feel a surge of excitement. This feeling of hope makes you work even harder. You're not even stopping for a bathroom break! Finally, there is enough room to squeeze through the hole. You push your way through, wiggling and squirming, until finally you land on the other side. Jumping up, you prepare to embrace your freedom when you realize that you dug through the wrong wall and you're simply standing in the cell next to yours! What a horrible thought! But isn't that exactly how it feels sometimes? You work so hard, for so long, only to find yourself feeling exactly the way you felt last year. Even if you've made progress, without the right mindset, you may just find yourself in a larger prison cell. So here's what to do... The first thing you must do is decide what your ultimate outcome or MISSION is in life. Then you need to look at what actions your taking today and compare the two. How close is what you're doing right now to the mission you have? You must think of yourself as a ship in a large ocean of possibility. You need to be continually chart and track the direction you're heading so that you arrive at your destination safely, quickly, and with the least amount of effort. We'll cover Step #2 next week.
